Looking back on my childhood growing up around nature its hard to ever think that i could live without the fields and woodlands only a few steps away, however here i am. From creating work in the outdoors, through drawings, paintings to somehow developing into me creating natural forms inside a workshop shows how far my practise has come yet still holding on to my connection within the natural environment. I know its extremely corny to say that 'i am at one with nature' but when walking, or merely sat in a park its extremely hard to forget about the worlds problems and the world around me and really take in the beauty our world has to offer. Us as humans are forever destroying our natural resources and without action there is going to become a world where nature is no longer abundant as it once was. This is not a rant about the environment although a very important topic this is about the beauty that the world posses. How can a world evolve into this beautiful thing, a self sustaining environment full of knowledge and history. While walking i often find myself pondering as to what these trees have seen, how did they come to be there. I just as interested in the history as well as their organic forms. The process of walking is such a natural act that it creates a feeling of being at peace and feeling as though this is how the world should be really enjoyed - walking bare foot in the grass, no reason, no intention, just walking. I strongly believe in exploring anything and everything, everything means something and its my pursuit to find it. I must walking, explore , investigate to come across the work, nothing is pre-planned. If i went searching for a particular something i would become narrow minded missing out on maybe something more valuable. Exploring will forever be present within my practise and my everyday life. It can come at a cost, never feeling content as i feel there is always something else to explore, nothing is the 'end'.
